To be considered for the SINP Entrepreneur Stream, applicants must meet several criteria:

  • Minimum net worth of $500,000 CAD
  • At least three years of relevant business management experience in the past decade
  • Planned investment of $300,000 CAD in Regina or Saskatoon, or $200,000 CAD in other Saskatchewan communities
  • Commitment to reside in Saskatchewan and actively manage the business
  • Creation of at least two jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents

The Business Establishment Plan

A crucial component of your application is the Business Establishment Plan (BEP). This document outlines your proposed business venture and must demonstrate:

  • The potential for economic benefit to Saskatchewan
  • Your ownership of at least one-third of the business equity
  • Your commitment to day-to-day management
  • Job creation plans

The Four-Step Nomination Process

  1. Expression of Interest (EOI) Submission: Candidates submit an online profile detailing their business experience, assets, and proposed business plan.
  2. EOI Selection and Invitation to Apply: Top-scoring candidates are invited to submit a formal application. Selection is based on a points system that evaluates factors such as age, education, and investment amount.
  3. Business Establishment: Successful applicants receive a temporary work permit to move to Saskatchewan and implement their business plan.
  4. Nomination: Once the business is established and operating successfully, entrepreneurs can apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residency.

Application Assessment & Approval

After submitting your application, the SINP will evaluate it based on the eligibility criteria and your EOI points assessment. If successful, you’ll be invited for an interview and asked to sign a Business Performance Agreement (BPA). Upon approval, you’ll receive a SINP Entrepreneur Approval Letter and support for a Temporary Work Permit, allowing you to move to Saskatchewan and start your business journey.
